Formby Beach

Way back in February I read in the news that Antony Gormley`s "Another Place" was to be cleared from Formby Beach. My friend in Lichfield and I, both lovers of the beach and Gormley`s work, decided to go and see these 100 figures gazing out to sea on the North West coast just North of Liverpool before this happened. It was a bright but bitterly cold day as the pictures hint,but we had a great time discussinmg on the spot why that site had been chosen. We felt that the ambiguity of the title left space for the viewers to come to their own conclusions, but there was no substitute for actually being there and standing alongside them in the biting wind.
